Balogun Augustine Olamilekan
Am just coming across this wonderful organisation, weldone for this good work.
Augustine Balogun is an enthusiastic entrepreneur with interest in agriculture. He had his first
degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering; a subset of Mechanical Engineering, from Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) and graduated with a second class upper division in 2017.
The privilege of being from an agro-based area has enable him acquired skills in managing farmlands. While in the university, he was motivated by the university motto: technology for self reliance. This challenged him to seek to make a living from agriculture and also be an employer of labour; subsequently reducing unemployment rate in the society.
In order to hone modern skill in farm cropping, he developed relationship with high class faculty members in the school of agriculture and agricultural technology, FUTA. This really helped in performed better while managing a farm in his town in 2018.
With the large land mass and favourable climate condition, agriculture will continue to strive. Also, considering the increasing population, the demand for agricultural products will continue to increase. Hence, there is a high prospect for the growth of agro industry in Nigeria. Thereby, improving our economy.
Having discover early his passion for entrepreneurship, he has always maximize every opportunity to acquire knowledge in this and other related fields. So far, he has attended various entrepreneurial skill acquisition programmes. In October 2017, he attended UNIDO Youth Empowered programme in Akure. Similarly, he attended the entrepreneurial training programme organized by Africa Young entrepreneur empowered Nigeria (in Lagos) and Nigerian bottling company youth empowered both in 2018.
From November 2017, he has been a farm manager at Invincible Farm, Ado Ekiti. He is confident that his experience thus far is sufficient to manage a plantain farm. I already have lands for that.
On this note sir/ma, I will be very grateful if your organisation can help trained and support me with the necessary materials to start up my own farm ( such as: plantain suckers, chemicals). and finances as I hope to bring a good returns on every investment.
