Meet Our Awesome
Lawrence Alaba Afere, a Mandela Washington Fellow and an Ashoka Fellow, is an organic farmer and founder of Springboard Nigeria, a social enterprise that uses organic farming and healthy food production to create meaningful and responsible work for rural and semi urban youth in Ondo State, Nigeria. Presently, Springboard has over 1500 members within its network of organic farmers and rural women entrepreneurs. Lawrence envisions a Nation that feeds itself and where everyone has access to fresh, local, healthy, affordable food, communities feel connected to the land and each other and where rural and semi-urban youth are active leaders in the area of organic farming and production of healthy food and environmentally friendly products.
Helen Afere, a Business Administration graduate from Covenant University, Nigeria and also a professional in business Management, Helen is the co-founder of Springboard. Helen focuses on the running and operational management of the organisation. She is also a professional photographer and serves as one of the Springboard mentors for Rural Girls in Nigeria under the Springboard Community Development program.

Head, Farm To School Africa
Jemimah leads the Farm To School Africa Project, a project that works with High schools and educators to build school farms where high school students learns to grow heathy food for their communities.

Lilian coordinates all Springboard farm and village enterprise programs and acts as Administration officer
Head, Rural Water & Sanitation Project
Olamide manages the rural water and sanitation project under the name WATSAN.
Demehin Oluwatosin Jeremiah
Research and Development
Demehin Oluwatosin Jeremiah is a young entrepreneur who always sees opportunities around him. Oluwatosin, popularly referred to as Jere, is the Director of Research and Development at Springboard. Jere also heads the SafePads production Unit.
Ayo Ogunleye, a very passionate farmer, keeps everyone at Springboard happy! Ayo, popular referred to as Uncle by Springboard staff, farmers and supporters, has been a farmer from birth. He will always say, “I was born on the farm”! Uncle coordinates the Springboard farm activities and also takes part in training Springboard farmers. One more thing, Uncle enjoys driving our guests on a motor bike to Springboard farms.

Gbenga coordinates the activities on the Springboard Seed Centre and Demo Farms.
Johnson is the Chief Driver at Springboard.
Obina manages the Springboard Demonstration Farms
Ololo manages the Springboard Cocoa Farms
Plantain Chips Factory
Sayo Ogunleye, a farmer and the Head of Kitchen at the Springboard Organic Plantain Chips Factory. Sayo is always happy when she coordinates women and girls to achieve meaningful tasks and when she is asked to work on a project that helps enhance the productivity of rural girls and women.
Victoria, popularly referred to as Mama Cleaner, makes sure the Springboard offices and environment are always clean and tidy.
Mary is in charge of the goat farm. And also efficiently performs other duties assigned to her as needed.
Kabirat, popularly referred to as Alhaja, manages sales of our products especially the Springboard plantain chips.
